The Rehab Agency Assurance of Civil Rights Policies and Procedures Addendum to the Rehab Agency Policies and Procedures Manual will assist the Rehab Agency in meeting the Civil Rights Requirements as a condition of enrollment.  This “stand alone” section is designed to assist providers who have not updated their policies and procedures to comply with the required Civil Rights Laws that were updated in Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

This Rehab Agency Assurance of Compliance with Civil Rights Policies Addendum contains model policies based upon guidance and samples from the Office of Civil Rights.

Although this Addendum  contains prepared policies and procedures, there are facility-specific updates that must be made with respect to your Rehab Agency’s method of compliance. These Policies and Procedures were updated on 1/24/2020.

Rehab Agencies may always elect to develop their own policies and procedures, including model policies and procedures from the Office of Civil Rights.  Hopefully you will find that this manual will save your valuable time and effort in organizing these policies and procedures along with forms we have developed to accompany various policies.  We have developed this manual in response to requests from Rehab Agency personnel to reduce their “administrative burden” in developing policies and procedures.
